Since April, when it was clear the world was going to stay in lockdown for awhile, Anna Bliss has been walking in her neighborhood and writing virtual postcards online about what she sees, hears, smells, and encounters. Each “postcard” includes a photo of something she finds that is whimsical or beautiful or somehow strikes her that day – a visual addition to the meditation on what she observes as she meanders the sidewalks near her house. Even after 44 weeks of walking, there are still surprises to be found within a mile of the front door. By request, Anna has compiled her #postcardsfromsmpls into a book. She will be making a bulk order in the next few weeks, so email her at akb@pobox.com if you are interested in a copy – estimated cost per book is $20 (plus maybe a bit for mailing if you aren’t close enough to have one dropped off for you by the author – she is happy to make low or no-contact drop-offs for those in the Twin Cities area). She’s still walking, even in the cold of winter, so catch up online if you want more #poscardsfromsmpls!
