Disciples Church Extension Fund recently notified First Christian Church that Iglesia Mision la Roca in Dallas, Texas will be receiving a Holy Place Grant. This grant fund helps new Disciples congregations purchase a home. Iglesia Mision la Roca is ministering in a community that is ranked highest in the state in crime, poverty, and domestic violence, and fifth-lowest in education. They have partnered with the Neighborhood Watch Association and have organized a door-knocking strategy to meet families, talk with neighbors, and evangelize for change.
This is the first Holy Places grant since First Christian Church donated $250,000 from the proceeds of the sale of the 2201 complex to Disciples Church Extension Fund. Read Letter
