Rev. Ben Masters is a pastor ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA), a lover of story and sacred song, and FCC’s Intentional Interim Minister. Ben is married to Rev. Hierald Osorto and is honored with he/him and they/them pronouns.
Ben has served with a variety of communities in transition: Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis (2021-22); Grace Lutheran Church of Northeast Minneapolis (2022-25); and Holden Village, an intentional community and retreat center in Washington’s Cascade Mountains, where he was the Summer 2025 Bridge Pastor.
An itinerant and ecumenical life has given Ben flexibility and cultural humility. Ben cherishes their childhood in the Palouse Hills of Washington State and their first call with two congregations in the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. After leaving his comfort zone in the Twin Cities to study in Texas at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, he never expected that his husband would accept a call at Iglesia Luterana St. Paul’s San Pablo, a bilingual, majority-immigrant congregation in Minneapolis.
Ben shares:
“What a privilege and a joy to journey along FCC in this season of transition! I am eager to share stories, to sing heart-songs, and to feast at Christ’s open table with you. I hope to honor the distinctive gifts of the Disciples tradition, and to encourage and amplify the gifts the Spirit is already activating among you. I’m excited to begin! Onward in the Spirit!”
