Deb has a Master of Arts in Theology & Art (MATA) from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and is the Director of Spiritual Formation for Children here at First Christian. She is also on the SpringHouse Child Ministries Team.
On most Sunday mornings, you will find Deb at the Children’s Table with the kids – reading, playing games, coloring, using Play-Doh, creating art projects. She also quite frequently presents the Children’s Moment on Sunday mornings (kids are some of the best theologians around!).
For one week every summer, Deb is the director of the region’s Art, Drama, and Music Camp, aka ADAM camp, in Newton, IA. She and Anna Bliss also ‘decorate’ the front of the sanctuary, creating sacred space for each sermon series.
When she is not at FCC, Deb can be found creating costume magic at The Guthrie Theater and at selected high schools in the north metro.
