First Christian Church partners with a variety of local, national, and international organizations to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Through the work of our Mission & Outreach Team, we partner with a variety of community organizations meeting basic needs in the areas of hunger, homelessnesses, refugee services, support for those dealing with HIV/AIDS, among others. Meet our mission partners
Mission At Our Doorstep: Each summer we have a “local” mission trip, where we work with our community partners on a variety of projects. Learn more
Open Table LGBTQ Partnership: Providing leadership opportunities and social space for LGBTQA youth, ages 11-18, through community partnerships, as well as resource information for LGBTQA youth and their families. Learn more
SpringHouse Jumble Sale: Every year, the congregation comes together – with the other two SpringHouse congregations plus members of the community – for fellowship, outreach and service to the wider community. Learn more
National and International:
Denominational: We partner with Global Ministries, who joins with global and local partners to work for justice, reconciliation and peace around the world, and Week of Compassion, the disaster and relief agency of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This work is national and international.
International: We partner with Plaster House, a home in Arusha for children from around Tanzania to recover in after they have had corrective orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery or neurosurgery for a disability.
In 2017, FCC is partnering with Project Minnesota/León (PML) and the other SpringHouse congregations for a servant trip to Nicaragua. Tentative trip dates are July 23 – August 4. Learn more.
FCC has a long-standing relationship with Campamento Jack Norment through the Carter family, and over the years have taken mission trips to the camp during the summer. In the summer of 2015 a team of 25 people went from SpringHouse Ministry Center to the camp. Learn more
First Christian Church partners with Rippling Hope in Detroit to serve the least—the lost—the lonely. Rippling Hope is an instrument of hope for those who despair due to the circumstances of their lives–to those that are effected by injustice, poverty and disaster.
